SHOULD CHRISTIAN WOMEN APPLY MAKEUP? Makeup is the use of cosmetics such as lipstick, eye shadow or powder applied mostly on the face to alter ones appearance.
I'm very much aware that the topic of makeup upsets a lot of females because most women love to apply makeup and most pastors are ignorant about God's opinion concerning makeup.
That is why they don't teach on the subject of makeup, encourage women to apply makeup and even allow their own wives to apply makeup.
Makeup should not be embraced by a truly born again Christian woman.
What does the Bible say about makeup? The word of God terms makeup as painting of the face.
2Ki 9:30 and when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
2Ki 9:31 and as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
2Ki 9:32 and he lifted up his face to the window, and said, who is on my side? Who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
2Ki 9:33 and he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. It is clear in the word of God that Jehu was coming to execute the judgment of God on Jezebel because of her wickedness.
Jezebel was a prophet killer, and when she heard that Jehu the man of God was coming; she painted her face and adorned her head.
The critical question is, why didJezebel paint her face when she heard that Jehu was coming to execute the judgment of God on her? The truth of the matter is that, Jezebel painted her face for one purpose and it was to seduce the man of God.
Makeup brings the spirit of seduction, it seduces carnal men. The mother of cosmetics is Jezebel. If you apply makeup, you welcome the spirit of seduction in your life.
Demons are attached to makeup. God needs women to be humble. There is no humility in facial cosmetics; it is being prideful and being discontented with the appearance that God gave you. Makeup causes women to look artificial again which is displeasing to God. God needs purity and this entails women being natural.
The devil has brainwashed women by making makeup to be part and parcel of their lives. Most women cannot walk out in the streets without applying makeup, they are afraid ofgoing out in public without makeup, they are afraid of displaying the natural beauty that God gave them.
