FORGIVE YOUR OFFENDERS. Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, Your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will Your Father forgive your trespasses.
Forgiveness is the state of ceasing to feel upset with a person who has done something to harm, annoy or upset you.
Our God is loving and merciful, He will always forgive each and every sinner who comes to Him with a humble and contrite heart.
We as Christians are expected by God to emulate His character and also forgive those who offend us.
No one is righteous, no not one. We have all fallen short of the glory of God. The word of God tells us that if a man says he has no sin, he/she is a liar.
Our God is Holy and the offences that we commit against Him grieve His soul because of His purity. The word of God tells us that our God is a longsuffering God.
Longsuffering in the sense that He forebears to punish us for our sins and waits until we come to the knowledge of truth so that we can repent. This is because Jehovah is gracious and merciful.
The Scripture tells us that God forgives everyone who repents and remembers their iniquity no more. We as children of God are also required by God to forgive and forget those who trespass against us.
We cannot sow unforgiveness to those who offend us and reap forgiveness from God. If we sow unforgiveness to those who offend us, we will likewise reap unforgiveness from God.
Evil spirits influence people to slander, gossip, backbite, curse, and cause a lot of discord among brethren so that the offended party may develop bitterness and resentment towards the offender and in the long run cause both the offender and the offended party to miss the glorious kingdom of God if seeds of bitterness were never dealt with before death.
A lot of people went to hell because they failed to forgive. Unforgiveness according to the word of God is sin.
If we have to serve God faithfully, we have to serve Him with a free spirit. Our hearts should be free from anger, bitterness, resentment, hatred, etc.
The real evidence that you have forgiven a person is being comfortable around that person, and being free from any form of bitterness in your heart towards him/her.
Let go of grudges and forgive those who offend you for the well-being of your soul and your eternal habitation. Forgive your offenders. Leave a comment. Donations.
